FEBRUARY 2005 IRRAWNY MEETING
Wednesday, February 16, 2005
ARE UNIONS ON THE PRECIPICE OF
EXTINCTION,
OR ON THE VERGE OF RENEWAL?
Join us for a
penetrating discussion on a possible schism within the Union movement, and
the AFL-CIO specifically, that today is occupying the hearts and minds of
Union leadership. Tom Johnson from Cornell University’s School of
Industrial and Labor Relations will give us an overview of the issue.
SEIU’s George Kennedy will discuss SEIU’s proposals for changes to the
AFL-CIO. And CWA’s Dave Palmer will argue the opposing view.
Free parking is
available at the Fernbach parking ramp on Franklin between Court and
Niagara Streets. You may park here and get your parking voucher at the
meeting.
