Each year, usually
in May, the Chapter presents its Citizen of the Year Award to an
outstanding member of the labor and employment relations community who has
distinguished himself or herself through distinguished service to the
Western New York labor relations community.

In the past, the
Association has also awarded an annual scholarship to a student pursuing a
career in the field of labor and employment relations. At its summer
meeting in June 2008, the Executive Board decided to discontinue the
scholarship program for this coming year while it reassesses whether the funds devoted to the
scholarship program might be better utilized in another way to further the
objectives of the Association.
