SORRENTO-LACTALIS FACTORY TOUR
Please join us for the
Sorrento-Lactalis tour. Sorrento-Lactalis is the leading brand of Italian
cheeses in the eastern United States. Established in 1947, Sorrento is a
home grown success and since 1992, Sorrento under Groupe Lactalis of
Laval, France, combined with its sister company Lactalis, USA represents
$1 billion in sales. All sales and marketing for food and services are
managed right here in the Buffalo headquarters.
Sorrento and the
teamsters have a very cooperative labor management relationship that
developed through the nineties and continues today. The partnership uses
innovative concepts centered on grievance reduction and interest based
bargaining. Joel Johnson, Human Resources Manager and Ed McDonald,
Business Agent, International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local 264 will
share their experiences that have made their labor management relationship
succeed in the Sorrento workplace.
