OCTOBER IRRAWNY MEETING
October 1, 2003
ANNUAL LAW NIGHT
A REVIEW OF PROPOSED
CHANGES TO THE FAIR LABOR
STANDARDS ACT (FLSA) OF 1938
As you know, the US Department of Labor is proposing sweeping changes to
salary and job duties under the FLSA. The chief component of the proposal
is an overhaul of overtime pay. Howard G. Foster, PhD, an Arbitrator and
Professor at the School of Management, SUNY at Buffalo, will moderate a
discussion of these proposals. Panel members Robert Doren, Esq., with Bond
Schoeneck & King LLP and Richard Lipsitz, Sr., Esq., with Lipsitz, Green
Fahringer Roll Salisbury & Cambria LLP, will decipher just what the
sweeping changes are and what they portend for employers and employees.
Questions and comments will, as always, be welcome from the audience.
