FEBRUARY IRRA MEETING Wednesday, February 4, 2004
Creating Effective Health Care Options
Through Labor Management Cooperation
It's obvious the issue of providing health insurance
benefits for active employees and for retirees will continue to be a top
priority for both employers and employees. Recently some local entities
have taken major steps to develop and implement new strategies dealing
with healthcare coverage. We're delighted to have Dennis Campagna, Esq.
Cornell University ILR, moderate a panel on this issue. Members of the
panel are: Thomas Pomidoro, Benefits Manager, and Dr. Darlene Michalak,
Associate Superintendent, ERIE 1 BOCES who will discuss the creation and
operation of the ERIE 1 BOCES Health Plan operated under an Article 44
Trust. Thomas Dziedzic, Business Representative, International Brotherhood
of Teamsters, Local 264, and Kathleen O'Hara, Director of Labor Relations,
Erie County, will discuss the creation and operation of the Erie County
Labor-Management Health Care Trust Plan. This should be another
informative and timely program -- we invite you to join us and bring a
colleague.
