It is our pleasure to state that Howard G. Foster has been
selected as our Citizen of the Year and will be honored at the next
dinner meeting on Wednesday, May 16, 2007. Howard has served on the
faculty of the School of Management at the State University of New York at
Buffalo since 1969, prior to his most recent appointment as Associate Dean
in 1994.
Howard has also pursued a career as a distinguished neutral helping to
resolve numerous labor-management disputes as an arbitrator, mediator and
fact finder in both the public and private sectors. He has been a member
of the National Academy of Arbitrators since 1980 and is currently a
member of the Board of Governors.
An active member of our LERA Chapter, Howard served as President in
1990-1991 and has made valuable contributions to the Executive Board of
our Chapter since then. Most notably, he and his wife, Laurie, have
enabled our Common Ground newsletter to be published and distributed.
