THE IRRA FOR WNY CHAPTER CELEBRATES
40TH ANNIVERSARY MEETING
You wont want to miss
our final meeting of this program year as we celebrate 40 years as a
chapter, award a scholarship, and recognize Ed Schmidt, as our Citizen of
the Year. Well also reminisce and reflect on the past and speculate and
project about our future as we continue to try to fulfill our stated
purposes. Dr. Jim McDonnell will moderate a panel discussion, including
special guest Tom Colosi, President from 1966-67, who will share some of
the reasons that precipitated the founding of the WNY chapter in 1965.
The By-laws note our
purposes are ...to provide a forum for the mutual exploration by all of
the parties in Collective Bargaining, carried out in an atmosphere of
co-operation and academic free inquiry, into all aspects of Industrial
Relations; to encourage a melting pot of Industrial Relations
practitioners seeking a favorable climate for Labor-Management relations;
[and] to encourage research and dissemination of results of research in
Industrial Relations.
